Yolonda Brown is the Superintendent of Petersburg City Public Schools in Virginia. With more than 30 years of experience in urban education, she has served in a wide range of roles – classroom teacher, model teacher leader, principal, associate superintendent, and chief academic officer – building a consistent record of improving student growth and achievement.
Before joining Petersburg as the Superintendent. Brown served as Chief Academic Officer at Atlanta Public Schools, where she provided strategic oversight of teaching and learning, student support services, and instructional technology. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Clemson University, an M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University, and an Educational Leadership Certification from Clark Atlanta University.
