Dr. Markay Winston is Superintendent of the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) in Bloomington, Indiana, appointed in January 2025. With more than 30 years of public school experience — including roles as school psychologist, Director of Student Services, Chief Academic Officer, and Deputy Superintendent — she brings deep expertise in curriculum and instruction, special education, early childhood education, and English learner supports across rural, suburban, and urban communities.

Before her appointment, Dr. Winston led nearly 200 community listening sessions as Interim Superintendent, centering students and families in her vision for MCCSC. She holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and her superintendent’s license from Xavier University.
