Corey Seymour

Superintendent of Clear Creek Amana Community School District in Iowa

Dr. Corey Seymour is currently the Executive Director of Leadership of Ector County Independent School District in Texas.

Dr. Corey Seymour has built a distinguished career in education following his graduation from Rice University, where he was selected as a member of the AFCA Good Works Team and the Hitachi Promise of Tomorrow Scholarship recipient. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas Southern University and a Doctorate from Walden University in Organizational Psychology. He began his career in education with the Houston Independent School District, serving as an English teacher and athletic coach. He later became a K-8 administrator, earning Assistant Principal of the Year and Principal of the Year honors.

Dr. Seymour took those experiences and accolades with him to Cedar Hill Independent School District, where he served as a high school principal and leader of secondary schools. He later accepted the superintendent position for Santa Gertrudis Independent School District. During his tenure, student participation in Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses increased. The district also relished a 100% graduation rate, which included district historic highs in college scholarships and state recognition. He broadened his career as an Area Assistant Superintendent (Area Senior Director) for Portland Public Schools and as the Executive Director of Leadership for Ector County Independent School District: where he oversaw and supported numerous schools. His career in education reflects a continued focus on improving equity and cultural proficiency, college and career readiness, developing school leaders, and closing the achievement gap.
